The O-ring fits, but you may be looking at it wrong. This O-ring is the only one in the gun that snap into a groove. All the other O-Rings go on the outside of other parts like the bolt.

It's going to take some effort to get it in. It won't just "pop" into place. You'll have to pinch it a little and work it around until you can get it all settled into its groove.

And don't even think of gassing up the gun! If you do, you'll just empty the bottle because the valve isn't going to close and hold pressure 'till you fix it.
