Re: paintball tank suggestions? bring your craziest dreams!

Cossio is probably the only source to insure a road vehicle based tank other then Loyds of London. And you'll have to call them direct to see if they can. I just dont know. If anyone can, it'd be him.

See the deal is the past several years, there has been no tanks covered under paintball insurance. The main companies changed hands and they had no clue about paintball in general and deffinetly didnt know tanks were used. When they found out, it went bad. The only field that had tanks covered under insurance was Oklahoma D-Day and that was because they have to go through Loyds of London for a special policy due to the size of their event. And tanks were specified. So if you didnt have your own insurance, and no one did because we didnt have too, then you werent covered. Everyone incuding the field owners thought their insurance would cover it. They were wrong. And in this day and age, you cant just rely on the fact that your not gonna run anyone over. You hope you're not going too, but accidents happen. And most field owners are gonna make sure their butts are covered even if it includes keeping tanks off the field.

Luckily my field owner started working with the two main insuracne provider to get this situation rectified. Obviously tank insurance is a major concern to our field as well as our particular team, Team ODX. We are tank heavy and an armored based team. Its one of our claims to fame so to say. He was actually able to do alot of the leg work for the paintball community in getting Cossio to insure tanks. Cossio actually did better then originally thought. Our field changed providers to Larry Cossio and ended up spending less then they were with the old provider plus getting the tanks covered. Hard to beat that.

If you really want to get into armor the places to go are WARPIG.com in the tank section. Tons of info in there in the older threads and lots of tankers roaming about. Also another good spot is on PBJunkie.com in their tank section. Most of those guys are from the Southeastern US but they are some very experienced tankers in there.

Now here is the online application for Cossio's tank insurance. Note the restrictions. Also note it is event specific, not a year long policy...
