Around here we sometimes say "odd" to mean "about/around". So "30 odd cows", "5000 odd people", etc. I think that's probably what he meant.
On topic, we get ladies playing at our field all the time, including some of the regulars. Some of them are pretty good, in more ways than one... They don't get special treatment, but most of them don't need it. I wouldn't want to end up in a one on one with a couple of the regulars.
