You are right, they are completely different, and as such have different characteristics.

Personally, i'd go with the Hammerhead if I had to choose between the two. But for the same price (or less if you shop around) you could get a J&J Edge Elite barrel kit which comes with 5 backs and 3 fronts (your choice of length). This is what I run with, and it's the best value for money barrel kit on offer IMHO.
