Re: What Camo do you wear?

I know what cadpat is, I know what the rules are, I wear it every day. Its my job. I dont care about the law, I just think its wrong that's all. It should be illegal down in the US to wear marpat, but its not. The military down there sells their stuff civvy side, they dont care. Up here, if its in service its not allowed. If you wore MARPAT up here, it wouldnt matter. Its canada not the US, same thing reversed with cadpat in the US, wouldn't matter. I'm just a very strong believer in the idea that you should not wear, for recreational purposes or otherwise; the pattern of your country's service uniform. Unless its your job, don't wear it, find another type of camouflage. Its just a respect thing, Im not ripping on ya dude, im just saying its not right. If its out of service I.E OD, Woodland or whatever then there's nothing wrong. Even though it is legal, and sold everywhere, its still wrong.

And yes to answer your hearsay, CADPAT is IR treated. It cannot be distinguished by night vision systems. Its more the pattern that disrupts NVG systems than anything else.
Hence the name CADPAT (Canadian Disruptive pattern) A cool little tidbit: Canada is the first nation to develop Digital Camouflage, and is the first nation to have uniforms that
are IR treated and cannot be seen by night vision systems. The united states tried to rip this off with their original incarnation of MARPAT... Which looked like puke. (Really, It did)
But alas, they have mastered their rip-off. It works good.

Just to reiterate, its just a respect thing. Dont wear the uniform if you haven't earned it, and if you have, dont abuse it. I dont wear it paintballing and I have 3 sets issued to me.
I wear jungle tigerstripes. Good enough for me.
