Re: What Camo do you wear?

Well, all I can say is that my grand father and father fought for my right to do what I want.

I say "HOG WASH" to your comments Patno. It is not the BDU that makes it wrong. It is what you do with it that makes it wrong. Fake or real isn't even the discussion. Wearing it isn't even the discussion.

As they say, "We fought so you can have the freedom to do what you want as long as it doesn't affect other people!" And if wearing fake CADPAT for paint ball makes me happy, then go for it. I am not worried about disrespecting you, it is disrespecting those who have died!

I am not going to be your poster child for anti CADPAT, MARPAT argument. There are alot of people who wear real CADPAT, MARPAT, tiger stripes, bla bla bla. With your thinking, everyone is disrespecting some one who was in service at one time. A lot of people died wearing Tigerstripes in wars. If anything, you yourself is also disrespecting those in who died in service, so please be aware of your own actions. Out of service or not. Are you saying that those who have died, the uniforms they proudly wore are "out of service" and don't demand the respect? I know you are not saying this, but your language is pointing to that. My CADPAT and your tiger stripes, using your words, are still disrespectful, whether they be real, fake, in service or out of service. So if I must stop wearing mine, you must stop wearing yours! We will have to go in our birthday suits... ouch! My grandfather sees it a bit different, he actually enjoys watching us gear up. He says it pays homage to those who died for us to be able to do this. So for someone with 4 bullets still him, I will take his word over yours.

I don't wearing any military patches and do not wear insignia, or rank patches either. I think wearing those would be extremely insulting. All I have that I wear proudly is my group patch, my 2 green CDN flags and soon my a5-OG patch.

Well this will not be settled between you and me and nor should it be. I will wear what I want and you will wear what you want. It is not me you should worry about. Our own soldiers are selling this stuff on ebay for money. I bought mine from a CPgear which is known to sell fake CADPAT. If I bought the real stuff, then you can chew me out all day long!
PS
Thanks for being in the service, people don't thank our military enough.
If I was given a pair of real ICE CADPAT, I would not wear them out on the field as I feel it would not be right. I support fully the "Cloth the Soldier" program and it should stay with the soldier and not on ebay! Hence, the governments public encouragment on CBC for civs to purchase the fake stuff, it keeps the real stuff in the hands of the people who need them!

If you need to argue this more, take it the mil forums where there is all ready a lengthy discussion of service men and women arguing both ways! Lets not do this here!
