It's the quadrant Sight from an M-26/M-203 launcher combo. You would need the carry handle attachment, but on the real deal it attaches to the carry handle and you sight it like an oversized rifle sight to give the M203 indirect fire capability to ranges of approx. 450 meters (the leaf sight only gets you to 250). You keep the sight level, and whatever adustments/settings you make result in you 'angling' the M-16/M-203 to pre-set the arc of the projo flight.
My only question on your design is how angling the scope itself will interfere or change how you aim. You would almost have to have the angle of adjustment going DOWN towards the front of the marker, so as you level the sight, you raise/arc the marker to make the ranging trick work. It would probably have to incorporate an offest like the JCS 3", but at least then you could make it reversible for leftys too...not a bad start to the idea, Odin..!

Yeah, I'm curious if it will require the offset or not once it's done but I don't think it will. I'll find out once it's done.
Do you have any pics of how that rail mounts? It probably is a similar idea.
