| Re: Are sights useful? A well trained person who keeps the sighting system directly in front of them will have more shots going on target. In a prepared location, the easier the sight is to use by the operator, the more effective it becomes. In a running gunfight when actual sighting is limited or not used at all, the effectiveness of the sight is negated because the sight is not used at all.
I have non-magnified red dots on my two primary "large" markers: An A-5 and an ICD Bobcat. During my walks in the game the marker is generally in front of my face in a ready position. This is how I was trained. My T8 has glow in the dark paint on the sights and is carried in the same way. I have punched holes through brush with the A-5 to make an elimination. Not all shots were 10X. The paint does not allow that type of accuracy. I do not worry about the paintball with my name on it; I worry about the the one addressed to "General Delivery."
Are sights usefull? Only if you use them.
