I agree. 1g/kgBW is the maximum the human body can possibly absorb. A ratio reserved for competitive strength / muscle building athletes.

True. Well, there is such a thing as protein poisoning that you can get from eating huge amounts of ultra lean meat, but that is so rare. But with the intake of meat comes the intake of other harmful things. Like fat, mercury (fish), red meat is known to obstruct the bowels, etc. Whey protein is a good way to get that "extra" protein in your diet so your body has all it can possibly need without taking in any extra fat and minimal calories.
