I'd say Blogger if you want something remotely hosted and aren't an expert. If I want a blog I usually just design and code my own from scratch and host it on my own server. As such though, I can't really help you much, but I have heard good things about Blogger (+ it's owned by Google so it'll be around until the end of time). Oh, and it's ad. free I think, which is great for a free service, but that's because they are Google and really can stand the loss. http://www.blogger.com/start
