I've got a painball magnet in my forehead and i took a nasty hit over the weekend , the wifes not to thrilled so I'm looking into getting a helmet.
I have used the search method but did not find the info I'm looking for
Thanks guys !!

you don't need a helmet - take the silly visor off your mask, and wear a milspec Boonie hat. the floppy brim, and the bunched web band seem to absorb impacts really well. least wise I've never had a painfull forhead hit, or a nasty head welt. unless it's a "look" you are after, avoid a helmet... and those newer full coverage masks (I mean... OK yeah getting hit in the bean hurts a little but FULL coverage masks?! thats a little extreme) if you must wear a helmet... I reccomend a Matte black or olive Protec skate helmet.
actually designed to protect your head from bumps n' bruises (Unlike "replica" MICH helmets and the like) and still very light and well ventilated. Bonus: for speedballers who have an urge to protect thier precious melon, the protec helmet is available in a bunch of silly "spacegun" matching colors.
