LTC Dave Grossman's book "ON COMBAT: The Psychology and Physiology of Deadly Conflict in War and in Peace"

Especially those with combat exposure, this book gives great insight.

Colonel Grossman also wrote On Killing, a classic on how we condition folks for killing from adolescence. Helped me get a handle on a lot of things.
