I do have to say I have yet to understand why they put gauges right above the reg on so many markers. It makes it horribly uncomfortable to hold, thank god for plugs. |
I currently own 2 stock body 06s and really don't like the feel of either. While they are well broken in, and shoot great, they just don't feel as comfortable in my hands (atleast with out a star frame) the 06 Star frame is just awesome IMO. Of the 4 06 Egos I own (2 stock bodied, 1 Dark and an SL66) The dark is by far my favorite. Its more comfortable than the 2 stock body guns, and the trigger is much nicer than the one on the SL66. Im going to mess with the SL's trigger some more and hopefully get it to a place I like it a bit more (unless of course I sell her first

)
My SL8R is in a similar place as yours Shade, I've finally got about 8,000 shots on it, so I'm finally getting it broken in. another few cases and she'll be ready for some tweaking. I usually wait til I have about 10,000 shots through it before I start to tinker.
I can tell though that its much much smoother than when I first bought it. I can't wait until I have if fully broken in and tuned.
