My paintball gun setup is about $1,200. I have practically every upgrade out there for an A5. The price for the dot sights in the pictures above are all priced around $400.

Also, using top quality dot sights are very difficult to damage. A paintball hit on these sights wouldn't harm them at all. Even if its completely covered in paint, you can wash it under water because they are completely waterproof from anywhere between 15ft-30ft underwater. (So top quality sights will work underwater). Rinsing one of these sights under a faucet wont do anything to them except get the paintball hits off of them.

As for lense cracking, very unlikely. The lenses used in quaility sights are nothing like the cheap lenses you get with replica sights. A little paintball doesnt have the strength or speed to actually crack the lense in one of these. The only thing that will crack the lense is a real bullet shot at it.

Heres a picture of an Eotech 512 Sight(Price: $400) with a cracked lense caused by an actual bullet, and it still works even with a cracked lense. A paintball could never do that so you don't have to worry about paintball hits to the lense.

When you buy an expensive dot sight remember, your paying for quality. Quality sights are widely used among the military so these sights must be extremely reliable and must take a beating every now and then. These sights are designed to be used in harsh conditions and dangerous situations such as live round fire everywhere. So using one of these sights in a paintball simulation game is nothing compared to what they are actually used for every day.

As long as you take care of them, you dont ever have to worry about them breaking....which is still very unlikely that would ever happen....especially for paintball use.
