This isn't the question at hand though.
There is no arguing that one can be accurate without an optic, and there is no arguing that one can shoot the marker without using one. But, with that being said, it seems to me that people dismiss the potential of having one in place.
It's as if people are closed minded on the topic at hand, with the idea that if you have one on the marker then you must always use it. I have optics on ever paintball marker I use besides my T8. I don't always use them either.
Depends on the circumstance.
However, there is no arguing that you can make a first shot count at distances that would be harder to accomplish without one much quicker.
I have made some pretty astounding kills with mine, that would have other wise been much harder to pull off without one.
For instance, there was a guy setting behind a wood barrier looking through a peep hole about the size of a base ball. I took aim at roughly 75 feet and pinged his nugget first shot.
If I wouldn't have had that sight, I doubt I could have pulled that shot as quick, or with the first shot. He would have ducked back if the first shot would have just hit close and alerted him. He never seen it coming till it was egg splatter on his lens.
