A5 recievers cross compatability

I'm in dire need of new recievers, mine are well, fubar.

I'm curious as to wether or not the brand new new style recievers should bolt right up to the oldest style.

To be more specific.
I have a left reciever of the original series that is still usable, but my matching right side reciever is done for. I use the r/t and plan on doing some nifty mods too it (a different rendition of the super r/t) so the new recievers would make that easier for me do to my plans for it (controlling air flow to the cyclone and r/t seperately)

I'm fairly sure from the newer style (not the newest) reciever in my local shop that it will just bolt right on and the only difference will be the finish on the outside (not too worried about looks)

Also do these require the x7 power tube with dual ports for the r/t and cyclone? seems like they should.

any info's a plus, thoughts, opinions, ehate, flaming, i'll appreciate it all.

Also bear in mind i only want to buy one reciever because i am very tight on cash right not. (150 every two weeks leave very little for paintball and life)

Re: A5 recievers cross compatability

I don't see any differences in the left side on the newer A5's. It should work just fine.

Re: A5 recievers cross compatability

you will need an x7 powertube. you can check if tippmannparts.com if they have any older style halves. you can drill out the holes on the powertube as well if ou do decide to get the newer ones.

TippmannParts.com - 02-01L Reciever Body Left (Older / Shiny)

The other half is under "related products."

Re: A5 recievers cross compatability

when did they start making the dust finish... I'm trying to figure out how old my A-5 is since mine is used and I have the shiny receivers.
