JCS RVA broke!

Recently installed a JCS RVA on my A5. After two days of use, aprox. 5000 balls total, the RVA broke. The plastic around the bottom where the bottom push pin goes thru cracked and the RVA almost blew out completely. Any one knows if this is a common problem with this? Velocity consistently set between 270-280 fps. Any warranty. Item bought on ebay brand new.

Re: JCS RVA broke!

This is the first I've heard of this and I'm sure this isn't a common problem. Did you install the JCS with the large grey oring between the rear bolt and the RVA?

I'd contact JCS, I'm sure they'd work with you on this.

Re: JCS RVA broke!

Yes the o-ring was installed. After the 1st outing with after tear down for clean-up, I noticed impact marks on the inside of the RVA (six points on the metal that looks like a nut). I matched it up to the rear bolt and it looks like the inside diameter of the rear bolt is hitting the RVA even with the o-ring. I have read on product reviews at least two other p'ballers had the same thing happened. Thanks for the reply, i guess i'll have to contact JCS than.

Re: JCS RVA broke!

I have the same issue with my hammer hitting that same part of my RVA, even with the O-ring. My RVA hasn't broken though, but it is a pain cleaning out metal every time I'm cleaning the gun after a day's work.

Re: JCS RVA broke!

i had the same problem, except the RVA actually shot off the rear of the gun causing me to lose my guide pin and red spring.

called JCS talked to guy in charge of manufacturing, told him his injection molding process sucked, he sent me some new plastic pieces, i have used them since and so far no problems.

Re: JCS RVA broke!

Ahhh ha. . .

So this has happened to someone else. . .

Believe it or not, I have been through 2 RVAs in the past week. . .

Cause I am the kinda guy that always buys two of everything, when it comes to my marker, after the first one blew, I installed the second one thinking I just got a bad RVA or something, but 5 days later the 2nd one blew. .. ....And well, I am peeved. . .

All the same precursors happened with me two,and yes I did have the oring installed. . .

I am going to send them back and ask for a full refund, cause I dont mean to be funny, but I have lost all faith in this particular product from JCS, funny though cause none of their other products have ever given me grief. .

But I guess it is a blessing in disguise, because I have now moved away from RVAs, my setup now includes the stock back plate, palmer male stabiliser and JCS gold power tube. . .I control my velocity only through my palmer now, having matched up a perfect spring tension match, I keep my palmer at 650psi and it shoots at 310 FPS, lower it down to my markers lowest operating pressure of 550psi and it shoots about 270 FPS.. . .

It is my opinion, but I believe this is the best way to opperate an A5. . .

Yeah, so from destruction breeds creation, it took me 2 busted RVAs and a lot of frustration, but believe me it was worth it. . . .

Re: JCS RVA broke!

I'll have to try adjusting with the Palmer-only to set the velocity.

I guess if the spring is the right stiffness and a constant and pressure is adjustable it'd work. As long as the pressure stays above the minimum operation level.

Re: JCS RVA broke!

Well just to update my problem, I contacted JCS and they are sending replacement plastic peice for the FIX. I guess they don't send a whole new unit. But anything helps. I did notice that the supplied o-ring may be to thin. With the RVA out and u put the o-ring gainst the RVA, that nut shaped metal protrudes past the o-ring still. So when u fire the gun, the rear bolt is just hammering the metal in the RVA. Wonder if JCS knows this. Or is that how it's supposed to be anyways?
Well I think i'll go to Home depot or something and look for a fatter o-ring of the same size. Thanks for all of your responses.

Re: JCS RVA broke!

That sounds like a really big problem. Even if the O-ring made it flush, it would still compress enough to cause problems.

It definatly sounds like it need a thicker O-ring!

Re: JCS RVA broke!

Are these newer A5's you guys are having the problems with? I have had my JCS RVA's for years and neverhad a problem with them, even with softer springs.
