| Re: third velocity screw that came out I used jb weld and some creative use of painters tape on my JCS red tube so it functions like a jcs gold tube. sealed up the hole permanently with no screw.

| Re: third velocity screw that came out If I were you, I would just put some blue thread locker on the screw to keep it in place. Teflon tape would also work.

| Re: third velocity screw that came out Teflon tape would be ideal since it will allow you to make adjustments still without having to worry about breaking the bond.

| Re: third velocity screw that came out I would use the Teflon tape as well. I have seen Loctite eat some plastics.

| Re: third velocity screw that came out you can't use thread locker on it unless you have a alternate method for controlling your velocity. And even then, I would suggest against it. If you do that with a normal FVA screw, it would be stuck in place and not allow you to field strip your marker. Nobody wants to do anything that limits yourself on the field in any way. Using Teflon Tape will hold it in place, but make sure there is not tape near the ends of the threads, the last thing you need it a little piece of tape exposed and getting torn off inside the powertube and clogging it up. This is another reason why I don't like to suggest this method, you have to be careful about how you are putting the tape on. The FVA is pretty lousy way to control your velocity anyways, take this opportunity to upgrade to the RVA. It will be a FAR better way to control your velocity, consistency and efficiency will be much better as well. Now, what to do with that annoying FVA screw...you can always do the FVA Mod. Or, to rid yourself of it once and for all, replace your powertube with the JCS Gold Powertube which has no hole for the FVA at all. |

| Re: third velocity screw that came out I'll probably do Mill's mod later on. Right now, I have a different mod being used for a similar purpose (but I like his better). Using a regulator to adjust your velocity is just fine. In fact, many high-end markers do just that. There is no other main adjustment for velocity, save maybe dwell.

if i get a rva, could i just duct tape the power tube shut? |
