Re: Valve Spring Wearing

Thanks for the suggestion "Big_red" and "Kyle". I will call Tippmann in the morning. Who knows, they might just send out a replacment.

Re: Valve Spring Wearing

Just remember that they are not required to send it out. There are two things you want to remember about warranties.

1. They almost NEVER cover typical wear and tear (which fits your issue pretty well)
2. They are usually finite in time; in this case, one year. If you're beyond that, there's no legal obligation to send anything free of charge.

Now, that being said, Tippmann CS usually rocks and kicks most other companies' butts. They may just send one for free just 'cuz.

Re: Valve Spring Wearing

Thnx JackRock,

I understand the limited obligation Tippmann has to me with respect to this issue...

The photo of your A5 suggests that it has been around for awhile (it looks like you use it). Does the spring in your valve assembly show wear similar to what I describe? I just found it to be odd. One A5 has maybe shot only a dozen cases of paint (new in September) while the others are years older... and the newest A5 spring shows less wear but it is getting pounded. Being a bit of a "Boy Scout" I like to be preparred... I need a box of spare parts which includes a valve spring!

Re: Valve Spring Wearing

They have all the spare parts at Special Ops Paintball. You can get certain parts without getting the whole box of parts for $40

Re: Valve Spring Wearing

The spare parts kit does not include any valve parts, save the o-ring.

Yes, my A5 has been around a while (nearly four years). I have had some problems with my A5 in the past two years, and have finally narrowed it down to the valve. Taking it apart, I do notice some similarities between its condition and your descriptions.

I already have a new valve (got the new style, since I was replacing, anyway) and am awaiting a new power tube.

Re: Valve Spring Wearing

No, specialops sells certain valve parts. If you want the spring you can get that, if you want the big o-ring you can get that. They dont have the small o-ring tho. O well though. Hope you get what I am saying though

Re: Valve Spring Wearing

Thanks again,

I have both the small and large parts boxes already and some other odds and ends from "projects" and recycled parts. There are some obvious parts that the kits do not contain (ie Power Tube, valve parts like the small o-ring (SL2-25)). I like to have spares... I will put together a small order for A5 parts (A5 Pins, ratchets, spring, o-ring (SL2-25), cyclone parts....).
