Re: I want a new powertube

why? is your origional one broken?

new powertubes do not increase preformance in any way. they only advantade they have it they are metal, therfore stronger. thats the only reason to replace it, but not for peformance reasons.

the gold powertube is the only one that is actually different in that it is completl flush on the inside and it ment for users who can adjust their velosity in other ways, like regulators and RVA's.

but, since you have an RVA, i would say if you ever had to replace your powertube, stick with the Red Hot Powertube.

Re: I want a new powertube

I use the Red Hot by JCS along w/ their RVA. No problems. I like the Red Hot since I can still use the FVA to fine tune along w/the RVA.

Re: I want a new powertube

Theyre right, unless you have problems with the stock powertube, you dont really need one. And if youre using Co2, maybe you should get a metal powertube. Since Co2 is so cold it will wear on your internals, causing the plastic to crack and or shrink, which will lose the whole point of the front bolt (to cover up the end of the powertube when the gas is released, making sure the gas wont go backwards, causing loss of velocity). So a metal powertube will benefit you. I have a DOP Powertube, and it works great. I havent tried the Red Hot Powertube, but Ive heard its quite loud.

I concure about the Red Hot PT. But Millslane, the other reason you want a Metal tube from I'm to understand other than strength is expansion. There is less expansion than the plastic one. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Go Red Hot, Mad Man Spring upgrade kit should be a good start.

At what point is expansion an issue? Wouldn't the cold cause it to shrink if anything. They are made to their size for a reason.

Re: I want a new powertube

I have to jump in on this one and agree that thier is no need real need for an aftermarket power tube.

Even bieng made of plastic is not an issue considering one call to Tippmann gets you a free replacemnt.

I have also seen more than one hit or miss w/aftermarket Power tubes, some have worked great others have actually totally compromised performance and some have just been a waste of money.

Talking Re: I want a new powertube

JCS makes an excellent powertube. If you are using a RVA you can use the Gold tube(called goldmember). If you are not using a RVA use the Red Hot power tube. It has a locking FVA screw so that your Velocity screw will not back out or move. My A5 shoots better since installation. You receive a new bolt with the kit. I have not regretted spending the money. I installed the power tube and jet click for the cyclone on both of my markers. A5 w/ Egrip and A5 w/ RT.
