Re: As Promised... Oring Sizes

When this list is done, it should be stickied. This would be a great help for anyone with an A5. Thanks for taking your time to do this.

Re: As Promised... Oring Sizes

How about the two inside orings that are in a slidecheck? Those would be helpful.

The quick disconnect o-ring for a remote is size 5, I usually find mine at Lowes.

And this is an awesome thread, can't wait for it to be finished!

Re: As Promised... Oring Sizes

Desert when you say a number is that Lowe's number 5 or is that the industry number 5?

My hook up to the calipers fell through because the electronics of it are on the fritz. That's why this has been put on hold.

Thats the SAE size (industry size??), #5 O-ring, 3/8" O.D. x 1/4" I.D. x 1/16".

I can possibly get access to a Digital caliper at work, I'm not sure if the flight line has them in the CTK but I know my back shop has them. If there is no special math involved (hydraulics = mechanical no technical math haha) I can help with this info.

I for see a small problem tho, let me know if you have found a way around this. This is what happened I got some tank o-rings from my local paintball store and when I went to get the QD o-rings I picked up some orings that matched the Tank orings. Well I got home and tested one that I got from the paintball store and it worked great, but when I tried the one that I picked up from lowes it leaked. When I rubbed the two different orings through my fingers the orings I got from the paintball store were a lot more rigid than the ones I got from Lowes. This seems to have a small effect on the sealing surfaces, if the oring is made with to soft of rubber than it wont seal properly. Any ideas??

Re: As Promised... Oring Sizes

Yeah. The orings at Lowes normally aren't made out of Buna or Beuna... I'm not sure of the spelling. But it's a compound that is more hospitable to the paintball environment especially if you are using co2.

Re: As Promised... Oring Sizes

Gotcha, I guess that the QD o-rings are small enough that it doesn't really matter what they are made out of?

Re: As Promised... Oring Sizes

I just bought o-rings for the R/T Stud at Lowe's and my system is working just fine. I got 10 of them for $1.36.

Lowe's part # 198990 #60 1/4" OD x 1/8" ID x 1/16"

I haven't played a game with it yet, but after running through a couple of hoppers, the system still works well.
