Question What Bolt?

I was wondering what aftermarket front bolt you guys would recommend and why.Having personal experience in your explanation why you chose the bolt that you did would really help!

Re: What Bolt?

Reading this will help. Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! I personally use a stock front bolt and recommend other to keep theirs.

Re: What Bolt?

I went with the JCS Hexadec bolt - it came bundled with my Red Hot powertube, and I've had no problems with it at all - seems to lead to a slightly smoother cycle, and doesn't break so many balls - hate shooting soup! No experience of the others though, they may be better?

Re: What Bolt?

I got the Orange Howitzer and haven't had any problems with it. I'm not too well aware of the other ones and probably have the same function but the Howitzer's got double o-rings so it's very air-efficient. I've gotten an additional maybe 75-100 shots with it...can't complain

Re: What Bolt?

I would recomend the Rufus Dog mentioned on the scientific comparision. The margin of error can be overcome with some shooting practice.

The reason I mention it here is due to the added prevention of ball breaks due to the venturi design. The current A5 stock front bolt should also come with an internal o-ring similar to the Shocktech and Rufus bolts. This is something you will want to look for.

The bolt combined with full TechT cyclone mods have allowed me to shoot 7 month old dimpled, discolored, bloated paint without (seriously) breaking 1 ball in over 200 rounds.

I second that along with TechT i have thrown some seriously bad paint without issues. at decent rates of fire.

Re: What Bolt?

The superfly bolt gets such a great popping sound when fired Much better than the stock bolt.

Re: What Bolt?

I voted for the Dead On. I have it on one of my A5's currently, it gives the gun a smooth sound. And my spread is definitely alot smaller than it use to be with the stock.

Re: What Bolt?

I just orderd the orange howitzer bolt today just becasue I hear from alot of A-5 owners I know that it helps alot with air usage. I hate running out of air in a fire fight.
