Re: Barrel O-ring

I just read thru this thread, but I'm not sure it answered the original question. Is there an o-ring inside the barrel adapter? Looking at the schematic, it appears that it shows the old barrel adapter (which is the one I have) with the barrel o-ring (#02-40) fitting inside the adapter. Unfortunately, I picked up my A-5 used so I don't know if there was an o-ring in there originally.

Re: Barrel O-ring

Ok, I have a question for everyone too regarding the barrel adapter o-ring. When I ordered my a-5 I got the stealth kit, The flat-line was already installed on the a-5 when I got it. Well I had it for about a year until I decided to do a full cleaning for my a-5. It was shooting great with just a few drops of oil in the asa. Well when I took it apart I noticed a large black o-ring sitting in between the receiver half's where the barrel adapter screws in. I guess it had just been sitting there between the 2 half's. I wanna make sure that is where the o-ring came from. the only thing is that I believe I would have the old barrel adapter because I got my a-5 before 0'6. I now use the o-ring to wrap around my flatline adapter outside the shround because it gives it a tight seal and makes it easier to take the flat line off. my other question is this bad for this paticular o-ring since its only for keeping the barrel adapter in place. I ask this because I'm about to get a palmers brass, and was thinking I may need to replace the barrel adapter o-ring because it has been stretched but still holds its orginal form.

Ok, Now i am confused. I bough my A-5 new last summer from Xtremez.com. (Some markers could be waiting on shelves for months before shipping so i reckon its older).

I have the adapter on the left, but I have one O-ring on the outside of my on Mine. The O-ring is located behind the two little wings that catch the inside of the housing. There is NO o-ring inside the barrel adapter.

With this set up, i have to strip and separate the housing in order to take out the barrel adapter. loosening the three screws will not be enough.

Should the old adapter have the o-ring at all i wounder, and this is why its a pain to take out the adapter?

---------------------------------- Edit----------------------
I am a dumbass. I striped my marker to check and I have the one on the left.

But its still a ***** to take out the adapter with out having to strip the marker and split the housing.
