Barrel O-ring

Hi,

The other day I was tearing down my marker, and building it back, I suddenly got concerned: did I lose the barrel O-ring (2-40)?
Removing the barrel, I couldn't see any o-ring around its tip, or in the adapter itself.
The schematic aren't too clear where this o-ring should go, and I can't remember ever seeing this o-ring before...
Is it supposed to go *in* the adapter, or is it an *internal* o-ring that goes around the adapter and cannot be accessed unless you completely tear down the gun?
Thanks for your help!

Did you completely tear down the gun in half?

I don't think there's an O ring of anykind near the adapter and/or barrel. But then again, I do have a flatline so that's different.

Re: Barrel O-ring

No O ring on the barell, just the adapter that the stock barrell screws into. You will only see this if you take the two reciever halves apart.

That's what I did too. And I didn't notice anything in on the barrel itself or in the adapter, though I could see the tip of the front bolt and the ball latch fine

Go here 02-39 is the barrel, 02-40 is the barrel O-ring and 02-69 is the barrel adapter. You are sure you are unscrewing the barrel from the barrel adapter and not just taking the barrel and adapter out as an assembly?

Re: Barrel O-ring

The adapter on the left is the new Tippmann A-5 barrel adapter with oring. The one on the right came stock on A-5 markers until mid summer '06.

Is there a difference in performance between the two?

Re: Barrel O-ring

The new one fits tighter and won't wobble. The one without the oring had a tendency to wobble and in some cases fall out.
