Stock and Spring Kit

I had someone tell me that when they added a stock, their velocity was affected. Is this true? Or just a case by case thing.

Is it advisable to pick up a spring kit if you're adding a stock?

Re: Stock and Spring Kit

The velocity will be affected slightly, but in my experience it's nothing that you can't control with the stock spring.

Re: Stock and Spring Kit

I had the problem when I added a CAR stock. It depends on the inset for the guide rod. Some are deeper than others. Airsoft bb's, cut off screws/bolts, even hot glue have been used to make up the difference. Even with new aftermarket springs I had to use a spacer.

Best bet is to get the stock then chrono it to see if you are lucky enough to have the issue.

Re: Stock and Spring Kit

I've had 2 different stocks on my baby:

1- solid SAW stock
2- folding MP-5

neither one affected my velocity to the point that it was noticable
