My friend had a similar problem, the drive spring was a dud and the bolts on his reciver were too tight.

I too am stuck at a certain FPS. My A5 is torn down right now because she is getting a face lift, but once I put it back together I may just try the BB trick, or possibly something similar.

Otherwise, any suggestions on the best spring kit?

I found that the stock spring was longer and stiffer than all my maddmann springs. Maybe it was just my kit.

I recall Deacon had this problem once - no matter what, velocity always capped out at around 200.

We eventually isolated the cause as the valve spring - not drive spring, the spring that is inside the valve body itself. In his case, it was longer and weaker than what it should have been.

Perhaps your problem may be similar?

that was a problem for me , bad valve . replaced it and never had trouble after that with fps
