Re: Changing the power tube

changing the powertube...

when you bought the JCS Red Hot Powertube, you only get the housing that holds the actual internals of the powertube. you must remove whats inside the stock powertube and re-install them into the new powertube.

remove the powertube, either by breaking the A-5 in half, or by field stripping the marker. once you have the stock black plastic powertube in hand, you have to use some force to remove whats inside. don't be afarid to break it, you won't use a pen or pencil to ram the internals out. again, use force, don't be afarid. it usually takes a little mucsle and usually its more than we would like to use, but its ok, go ahead...hit it

once they pop out, keep them in the correct order, use the manual, and slide them back into place in the new powertube. reinstall everything and your good to go.

the flatline is as accurate at any barrel. at 50 feet, you should have a nice tight grouping within a 1 foot x 1 foot box.

Re: Changing the power tube

you don't need a regulator, since it already has a preset reg on it set to 850 psi.

but i always say two regs are better than one

a second reg has its advantages. they are usually adjustible so you can lower the amount of air used for the marker to operate. its using 850 now, but you can lower that to 700, maybe 650, maybe 600. less air used means more shots per tank.

i suggest a palmer stabilizer (same as a regulator) they are built tough and can withstand anything. they are great with HPA and are the BEST with Co2. so if you ever were to use Co2 again for whatever reason, the Palmer would be ideal for it.

Re: Changing the power tube

palmers are roughly $100,

a male stabilzer goes into the tombstone, a female gets screwed into( hehe) from the tank, and a inline is used to hooks up remotes or sumthin, idk really, lol

PBJ Time Re: Changing the power tube

You can slide the rear bolt and valve out once you remove the cap on the back end of the marker by removing the two pushpins. The slide and the front bolt will come out also. In the stock power tube , you will need to remove the valve and install it in the new power tube. Slightly oil the inside of the power tube it will help with installing the new valve. Good suggestion is to polish the internals of the marker if possible, there is a thread here to show you how. Just be careful of how the valve is positioned in the new tube or your tombstone will not fit into the tube when you go reassemble.

Actually, You need to pull all 4 pins and the tombstone out to get the powertube out.

Otherwise, it's impossible.

Re: Changing the power tube

Man don't sweat it. Just feild strip your marker to ge the power tube out- rember to screw your FVA screw all the way in so that it clears the marker frame. Then just push the valve out of the old power tube and push it into the new one. Pay attention to how the valve comes out and line it up with the rectangular hole in the bottom of the tube (this is where your tombstone fits). I just did it and the whole job took like 10 to 15 min.
