Re: Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! Well it's sad to see that the bolt that comes with those expensive JCS power tubes is worse than the stock bolt! I keep the hexadecagizmo bolt as spare, i'd like to get that DOP bolt, but it's kinda expensive on it's own! Anyone wanna start a group buy? ![]()

Re: Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! so the front bolt that comes with the jcs gold powertube isn't worth replacing the stock front bolt? is that the same bolt as the one done in the test? i'm getting the gold powertube today and was just wondering if i should stick with the stock front bolt because the powertube comes with that hexa thingermajiger.

Re: Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! I'd hardly call this an accurate result. For instance, keep in mind that everything is made with certain tolerances. If you were to get an A5 with an internal chamber that is at the high end of its tolerance and a bolt that is at the low end of its tolerance then it shouldnt be a suprise if the marker performed poorly. That being said, this test would provide more useful data if they repeated the test using several A5's and several of each bolt, and not just depend on the luck of getting an item that is made to the center of it's specification range. Make sense?

Re: Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! GungHo Well, besides having a little more chamfer for the ball, the hexathing has nothing to offer and seems pretty loose even on their own gold tube, no rear oring, no teflon, and the stock one seems to have been better manufactured too. Ah, you get the hexathing look on the bolt... Nekbyter Sure i'd like better statistics too and probably the rest of the guys around too, with different setups, different cannons, etc.. Could be a scientific study of all uprades and their interactions That would be wonderfull! But i don't think we got the croud to get into that ![]()

Re: Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! I wish I had seen this about a week ago, before spending $20 on a shocktech. I even damaged my Ops Gear MP5 Stock installing it. Crap.

Re: Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! I appreciated the bolt data. While the differences may be minor on the whole, I kind of lean toward the fact that if you do add several upgrades that each add a small improvement overall, it should add up to a decent improvement in the end. Like anything else it all comes down to what makes you, as an individual, happy with what you have. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you like to tinker, and every little bit helps, go to town.

| Re: Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5! I pulled up the Dead On Bolt at PB Review and it got many bad reviews (most dated older- maybe new units are refined) for improper fit and tuning/leaking issues. I'm not sure, but the product listed now seems to be a new version- "Pro Seal" : http://www.deadonpaintball.com/DEADO...PROSEAL&eq=&Tp= Is this different than the unit listed in the previous comparison? I personally like the looks of the Orange Bolt and wonder how it stacks up against the others.
