| Re: Is it possibel to install stock barrel adaptor sideways two questions, why do you need to do this for? (for better graphic reference) and when you mean sideways you mean the locking tabs pointing to the sides? because if I'm not mistaken the locking tabs point up and down

| Re: Is it possibel to install stock barrel adaptor sideways Oh ! I am NOT TRYING to do it LOL. I put mine together yesterday and wasnt sure if I did it right after consulting the manual. I dont want to have to take it apart to check (lots of stuff to take off). And yes I meant tabs sideways. I realise they are SUPPOSED to point up and down. |

| Re: Is it possibel to install stock barrel adaptor sideways I think the best way to reinstall the barrel adapter is to wait until you have the receiver halves put together. You can do this last after putting the A5 back all the way. This way, all you have to do, is slide the adapter in and twist it to lock it. In that manner, it will only go in and stay put, one way. Remember though, if the adapter is loose, you'll need to do the nail polish, or paint, or plumber's tape mods to the adapter so it doesn't spin in the receiver. Good luck.

| Re: Is it possibel to install stock barrel adaptor sideways I guess one way to make sure that you get the adapter in right would be to etch/scribe a line on both parts so that when it is in the proper (locked) position, the lines match up to each other. To do this, you would have to have the adapter in the correct position before you made the line. All it would need is maybe 1/4" on each part (adapter and receiver). That would be enough to see to check. Depending on how ggod your machining skills are, you could conceivably make it an actual small groove so you could check by feel. The line wouldn't have to be very big, just enought to see and verify visually. And the groove wouldnt have to be any more than 1 mm deep. Just a thought... --TAG-- |

| Re: Is it possibel to install stock barrel adaptor sideways Yup. Just loosen the two front screws and the adapter twists off and comes out in your hand. If the receiver is loose here, you don't even have to loosen these screws and it'll come out.
