Hey guys; What truth is there about the compatibility of the new X7 valve for the A5? If it is compatible, what is supposed to improve? ![]() How about the incompatibility between JCS Power Tube V1 and the new A5-A7 valve case? (As per Tippmanparts.com) I bought a used basic A5/Egrip a year ago. The damn thing gave me a consistent 2' vert ball drop at 75' using the stock barrel, and vel. screw wide open. I get the same range from a $60 Spyder 1. I haven't chronoed it yet...I'm firing CO2 and Origin Basic Training balls ($40) No chopping. Much better than Origin Seconds (Field Paint- $30) which chops like firing snot. I purchased the FlatLine, and it DID add about 20' of FLAT distance to my shots, but the balls curve away crazily to BOTH sides beyond 50'. I'm getting 8 ft diameter spreads at 75 ft. I get 50% bullseyes below 50 ft. I estimate an effective range of 150'. Maybe its my balls but this is largely inconsistent with Tippmann advertisements.A few weeks ago, it started misfiring, going into ridiculously rapid fire bursts . When it did, only pulling on the cocking handle would stop the craziness, and then it wouldn't cock, not even manually. After a check, I noticed that my sear pin is almost un-noticeably worn, but the rear bolt (old model) has some slight tears near the notch-edge, and it shows a bit of wear/mushrooming of the notch. I have both the RT sear and the Egrip's. The RT has an open pivot pin hole, and misfires much more frequently.I saw that Tippmann decided to redesign the bolt into 2 pieces, making it 3 times as expensive now ($45 at my local stores), and maybe 10% lighter. ![]() So I cut a piece out of a credit card, and inserted it in the egrip, right below the trigger plate assy. Wear HAS accelerated, but the gun misfires MUCH LESS frequently. Any idea where to order? TipmannParts.Com sounds OK... PS: I purchased the $12 Trinity Spring kit. Tried it w/the stock barrel. IT SUCKS. 1- The included Color Key is WRONG. Except for the red and purple, springs are colored different from the key. 2 -The red spring (fastest as per color key) doesn't add any noticeable range over the stock spring. 3 -The green spring gave me about 10' to 15 more range 4 -Tested the Black, Silver, and they shoot slower than the stock. 5- Didn't bother testing the purple one. I'm thinking about adding: JT Red Hot power tube V2 (w/metal front bolt) X7 Valve HPA tank with remote Any Suggestions?

Re: To Upgrade or not to Upgrade, X7 valve for my A5 Well the higher FPS you will reach more distance but still as VVulfe said, you still have to play under the amount stated at your local fields. The X-7 valve or what is called, used to be on the X-7 and thats why it got the name or people call it like that. Now it was taken from the X-7 and is being used on the A-5, is not that is compatible or not, is just used now on a5s instead of x7s. Now the X-7 uses a different valve. Power tube shouldnt be a problem since the only people who have version 1 is the people who bought it a long time ago and have not returned it yet. If you order yours right now it would be a version 2 automatically. Also what is exactly what you want to accomplish because i reas the whole thing yet i still dont get what you want.

Thanks for the replies guys; The A5 is supposedly capable of flat trayectory headshots at 50 yards, with the stock barrel. I'm lucky if I get kneeshots at anything beyond 25 yards. 1- I need a 50 yards of range without my flatline, and 75-90 with. 2- I want straight accuracy at 40 yards without the flatline. Am I expecting too much? My paint store guy told me to install the new X7 valve and rear hammer spring. Well; new springs didn't do much. So my trust on the guy went to the sewer. I wanted to know if the new X7 valve will really fit in the A5... Gracias PapiRiqui |

Yes, particularly with the flatline - it adds range, but strips accuracy.

Re: To Upgrade or not to Upgrade, X7 valve for my A5 Well with the stock barrel you'll be lucky to hit a cow standing right infront of you. So get yourself a good barrel like jj performance, hammer head, palmer pursuit brass, and many others. You will be able to make good accurate shots somewhere around 50 to 100 feet not yards. At 50 yards you'll hit your target but after emptying the whole hopper it not more.

Not limited to max fps. AH, BTW VVulfe, I no longer play at fields. Too expensive. I've started to play at the abandoned prision camp in Cayey, PR. ww.youtube.com/watch?v=DBBLsnFYWNE ww.youtube.com/watch?v=WHhglrtF0m0&feature=related The place is nuts, people cheat and play with minimal rules (check the guys without eyegrear in field), and we get up to 50 player teams. You gotta be on your toes every secind when you're there. If I can pull 400 fps from my Tippie, I'll be one happy camper. ![]()

You shouldn't be playing there if this is the case. No one should. It's not a question of "being on your toes," it's stupidly irresponsible and unsafe.

Re: To Upgrade or not to Upgrade, X7 valve for my A5 Yeah, CloneTrooper, I'm with the guys here... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be jiking about shooting hotter that 300 fps. The masks aren't rated for that. And, are you serious about people playing without masks? I think you rwally must be mistaking or joking. IF I saw someone playing without a mask on, I would definitely leave the field, but not before issuing them the butt-chewing they deserve. This sport faces enough challenges in the mainstream media, last thing we need is a bunch of guys trying to be cool, and end up blind because of it. NOT SMART...NOT SMART at all.
