JCS Hexagonal Front Bolt w/ DOP front bolt o-ring

Has anyone ever tried this before? While fiddling around with my gun, I looked at the front bolt. I have the JCS, DOP, and stock front bolt. The DOP and stock front bolts seem to fit pretty well on the side that is closest to the powertube but the end with the o-ring has a lot of play. I don't know why this is but it seems like it would give a lot of wobble. However, when I looked at the JCS hex bolt, its a good fit the whole way through. I know the DOP front bolt has a larger o-ring to give a better seal, so I took that o-ring and threw it on the JCS bolt. This was by no means a scientific experiment, but I know my gun has been shooting like crap lately, so I tried it out. IMHO, the grouping got tighter than just the DOP alone.

Has anyone else ever tried this?

I have not tried it but I too have the JCS hex bolt... Maybe I will look for an o-ring that is a tad larger to put on there?

Oh and by the way Odin, I'm getting a tac8 tomorrow... yayy

Re: JCS Hexagonal Front Bolt w/ DOP front bolt o-ring

Since this post, I've switched to the New Designz bolt, which also has an inner o-ring. I'm pretty happy with it.

Sweet deal about the T8!

That's cool, I met Tilt and his bro last week. They're good guys.

Noticeable, no. Measurable, yes. It helps seal off any escaping air between the PT and the barrel. My consistency has improved a little but not enough to see.

Re: JCS Hexagonal Front Bolt w/ DOP front bolt o-ring

I just picked up one of those Rufus Dawg bolt & powertubes with the shmancy bolt-guide and venturi style facing.. Going to play with it on sunday and ill drop a review for anyone interested. Had a little trouble installing it, but i was impressed with one thing that touches on your issue Odin - The RD powertube has these little slits in it that 'guide' the bolt forward and back.. What i noticed is that the bolt stays nice and straight as it travels.. I hope this translates to more consistent grouping.. but well see this sunday : D

DOP is short for Dead-On Paintball. They make aftermarket products, including a front bolt.
