Question Jam
This weekend i was shooting full auto with my A5, and it suddenly stopped fired, so i had to re-cock it to keep on going... have anyone had anything similar?
My set-up:
-JSC hex.bolt/red hot powertube
-APE
-Full techt upd cyclone (pluss QEV and thicker hoses, overkill, i know)
-Air-through and remote.

Ive never had anything like it, because ive only shot short bursts (max 2 sec), this time i held the trigger in pretty long. It also smelled like the grease was burning a bit...

Any tips to what i should look at?

My money is on the Ratchet....take the 4 screws off underneath your cyclone.....there is a plastic white ratchet right in the center...see if there is a tab broken off it....

Your gun starved itself. Its typical of guns running high ROF's. Your tank can't output fast enough to replace the air necessary to run the gun properly. Keep the gun at short bursts and it shouldn't happen again.

Are you running co2 or HPA. Co2 will not vaporize fast enough for sustained high rof's. Once it is only liquid in the tank, it will start sucking in liquid or just stop working until you give it some time to build pressure up again in the tank. HPA is just a matter of having a fast recharge tank with good flow.

Switch to macrolines and a new ASA, one with high flow like a speedball type ASA. They tend to be ported very well considering Tippmann ASA's are very restrictive. An LP kit will help as it will make better use of the air; in other words, more efficient.

Even with all this, you will have issues with extended high rof's.

Ah...so he's still able to shoot just fine...my impression was that he had to keep recocking to get it to work....DOH! GREAT CATCH!

That is probably just the oil/grease in the marker heating up from friction. Or it is vaporizing the oil in the marker and spewing it out of the marker. After a good lube, I'll notice a lot of oil shooting out of the marker in various places. Remember, the blowback gas vents through the grip frame. If it blows out oil, chances are you'll smell it.

Ok, ive got a HPA tank, but as some of you said, i think it might be the airflow from the remote... Might it be the slide check that is causing this? I noticed the holes in it are really small...

Its been a while since I've seen a slide check, but the stock ASA and gaslines are very restrictive. I compared a HP gasline vs. the tippmann LP hose, and there is a huge different. Macrloines offer the best flow.

How high is your ROF set too? I don't recommend anything over 20 bps. I've done strings of 20 bps for 5 seconds with no issues.
