| Re: Need help in resolving spiking issue. +/- 10 fps? I'd love to have that. I emailed tippmann about my +/- 40 fps and they sent me a new valve. Has helped. Last time out I was down to about +/- 15 fps. I think a Palmers stab is in my future.

| Re: Need help in resolving spiking issue. LMAO +/- 40?! Hahah i'd hate to run up on you at 50 ft... OW! Skin, and Aero, try the things I told ya, it should help you out a bit. Also, leave a little bit of error for the chrono... as it in and of itself has some variation

| Re: Need help in resolving spiking issue. OH I FORGOT A HHUUUUUUGGGEEEE TIP!!!!!! I use a dry teflon lube on my front bolt, and on the front of the receivers. It's REMINGTON DRI-LUBE. It is a fast evaporating teflon spray that bonds with the materials being sprayed on. It has a definate positive effect on shot patterns, and also could be why I'm a bit more consistent than the normal marker. The lube I use on the back half is hoppes 9 gun oil... works great and it's similar to viscosity of the tippmann lube, but just a bit slicker. Blowback markers, are very finicky... and they are also the ones that respond best to tiny, minute things. This could very well be it.... never thought about it till now..... I got them both at MCSPORTS, and paid about 8 for the dry spray, and 5 for the gun oil. It works amazing, and the dry stuff never leaves residue or gumminess or any gunk.. I clean my marker every 2nd or 3rd time I use it, and I have yet to bust an o-ring or part in almost a year and a half now.

Ok dude, either you're completely insane at this point or you have a mechanical engineering doctorate! How in the world do you come up with this stuff that seems random but works well? Thanks for the information, I'll keep an eye out for this stuff. I am waiting on payday to fix some things. Out of curiousity, do any of you notice a performance variance of any kind just after you clean your marker? **Spiritus...you should start a "Spiritus Church of Nonconventional Mods Thread"

Great tip on the teflon lube for the front bolt. I'v been using Hoppe's #9 on the back also but have not seen it lately at the local Wallmart where I'v gotten #9 before. I have seen and bought "Hoppe's ELITE" Gun Oil however. Just wondering if you may know anything about it. Is it ok for o rings ect? Is it just an updated version of #9?

No worries, the high was always under 300, the field limit.

| Re: Need help in resolving spiking issue. *insert Dr. Frankenstein laugh* I just seem to come up with weird things that work... it makes sense though if you think about it. It's the only lube i've ever come across that you can use for a bolt and powertube portion (and they need love too heh). As far as when I clean it, normally, it never really has any gunk or residue or anything even after I've used it a couple times. Normally I clean it when I take a marker hit, as any paint on my gun drives me up a wall (which is about every other weekend). So I really haven't noticed any difference... but if you're seeing some wear or residue, then it could affect it when you clean. Also, I take every o-ring out, clean them individually, and then clean the o-ring grooves with a soft bristle toothbrush to make sure the o-rings arent' holding any random crud. Ironically, I work at an aerospace plant on a paid internship/college ride.. lol.... for mechanical engineering/hydraulics. we design fuel governors for pretty much every engine that's in a commercial plane today (and half of our air force). 1.23 billion in sales last year WOOT!

| Re: Need help in resolving spiking issue. As far as the "elite" gun oil, as long as it's designed for lubrication of the firing mechanisms of a firearm, it should be safe for the marker. Good test is to put a drop on your finger, squeeze it as hard as you can against your thumb... and if they still slide freely, then it's got a good viscosity.
