Powertube Help

I'm looking for a metal powertube that is compatable with my R/T and preferably won't increase the noise of the gun. Any suggestions? Also for when I'm browsing different power tubes how can I tell if its R/T compatable?

As far as I know, unless it says it isn't, it is. Any doubts you can always go to the manufacturer's web page.

Re: Powertube Help

I have 2 gold jsc power tubes. I have the old version and the new version. The old version doesn't have the hole for the r/t but the new one does. I don't have any experience with any other after market tube but I'm pretty sure none of them really help with the noise. How ever the gold tube doesn't have a fva so you need a rva. I like my gold tubes seems like I get more shots per tank.

Re: Powertube Help

Power tubes come in a few varieties:

Gen 1 Stock: Large hole for FVA (Front Velocity Adjuster) and small hole for
the RT/Cyclone

Gen 2 Stock: Large hole for FVA and 2 small holes, 1 for RT and 1 for Cyclone

Aftermarket: versions of both styles

Aftermarket: for the Q-Loader that does not have the small hole for the
Cyclone with large FVA hole

Aftermarket: No large hole for FVA for use with RVA (Rear Velocity Adjuster)
only

Not sure about the noise levels though. I use a JCS Red Hot power tube and it seems louder.

Re: Powertube Help

People always say that the metal powertubes are louder. I'm not sure I agree. My A-5 is definitely quieter after I installed my JCS Gold Powertube. But I also installed a Palmer Stabilizer at the same time, so I can't really be sure which one made it quieter. There is a slight metallic kind of ring when I fire now that wasn't there before. But it's definitely quieter.

I wish I could make it louder again.

Re: Powertube Help

my X7 is slightly louder with my powertube, but not like it matters, I run a noveske sound amplifier with her, so it sounds like a 30-06 going off at 20bps...DUCK AND COVER....lol

Re: Powertube Help

I've thought a lot about getting one of those, but then I can't use my Apex.

If only there was some way to have my cake, and it it too.

Speaking of cake, I'm hungry...
