Re: Another Cracked Power Tube

Red Hot to the rescue! I shot a hopper full yesterday @ full auto and can report no damage. So if there is some sort of tight fitting issue it's not bothering the aluminum power tube. I guess the real test will be after a game and 2000 rounds later. I'll post those results too.

Re: Another Cracked Power Tube

not that i have any clue, but maybe when you polished the internals, you took to much, now when the bolt comes in it hits the power tube side, instead of sliding inside of it, causing it to crack...

already suggested but still not very likely.. I think the real culprit is a mis-shapped or out of tolerance hammer.

Re: Another Cracked Power Tube

or connecting rod, maybe too short causing the hammer to go too far into the tube? but then that would result in cocking issues.....

Re: Another Cracked Power Tube

So far so good! I shot 2900 rounds at full auto last Sunday and the Red Hot was unscathed. Still don't know what was cracking the plastic ones, but I'm not worried, unless somehow the aluminum one cracks too!
