| Re: Shocktech Super Fly Bolt To be perfectly honest, there have been extensive test done on many types of front bolt. The conclusion . . . don't waste your money if your stock front bolt is still functional. There isn't any real advantage to "upgrading" to the aftermarket bolts. Save your money and invest in something worthwhile like a better barrel or a stabilizer.

| Re: Shocktech Super Fly Bolt the DOP front bolt will help about +-3 fps compared to stock. you should buy a reg as it will do the most effect on consistency and then do minor upgrades like this to make your gun's consistency go down to +-3fps. i recommended this to be one of your final upgrades though. |

| Re: Shocktech Super Fly Bolt We always say if it isn't broke, then don't fix it. We call the Shocktech Superfly a "Premium Replacement Part". If that make sense.

| Re: Shocktech Super Fly Bolt if you search front bolts in "A-5 Internals" you will find this sticky "Scientific side by side comparison of leading aftermarket front bolts for the A-5!" (i would post a link, but i am new to this whole forum thing and havent figured it out yet. i used this to sway my opinion. although i have heard fantastic stuff about NDZ powertube/bolt combo, its not in the the test though, but i can think of better stuff to spend $40 on. just my opinion |

| Re: Shocktech Super Fly Bolt I think this is the thread you were after :- Scientific Comparison of Aftermarket Front Bolts So if you have a read of that, it will show you that the front bolt that had the most consistant results was the Dead On Paintball Delrin Front Bolt with Teflon Insert. The DOP front bolt sucessfully improved the fps consistancy and reduced the diameter of shot groupings over the stock front bolt. It's the only aftermarket front bolt i'd even look at buying. This test was also on a gun that was using the JCS Gold Powertube, so that in turn means no FVA. If your gun still uses it's FVA, then you will get different results than that of the OP. The reason for this is that the FVA disrupts the air passing around it when a shot is fired. To (possibly) get similar results as the test gun, you would need to install the JCS Gold Powertube, or alternately, do something along the lines of the FVA mod. You know what, if I see one cheap, i'm going to grab it and test it out. If it's no better than the stock one on my setup, i'll have a "premium grade spare" ![]() P.S. Just also wanted to say this is my 666th post ![]()

| Re: Shocktech Super Fly Bolt You do need to take a little care when purchasing a reg/stab. Check out PALMERS PURSUIT SHOP For different stabilizer setups. I suggest emailing Craig Palmer and telling him you're looking at fitting a stabilizer to your A5, and asking what would fit your needs. Also ask about connection fitting size for the application you're after. I made the mistake of ordering one with the wrong fittings for my application, and couldn't set it up how I wanted to. I had to settle for having it connected between my remote and ASA.

| Re: Shocktech Super Fly Bolt Guys, the Scientific test compared accuracy not consistency (FPS). According to the test, it only gave results for spread improvement; it said nothing about velocity consistency. Also, don't rule out other bolts that were not included after that test was made. 27, if there is an A5 that can get within chrono'd +/- 3 fps, I'd like to see it. |
