Can I?

Is it better to use white lithium grease on my marker than oil? Is white lithium grease good? Everytime after a game I clean up my marker and when I open it up it feels dry I always drop a couple of drops in to the asa but it seens that the oil drys out, what do you guys think?

Re: Can I?

Put your usual 3-4 drops of oil in just for maintenance, like every time you put a tank in.....But when you clean it, put some on the internals themselves, followed by some in the ASA....Then just take a towel, without a barrel, and shoot with the end of the gun in the towel a couple dozen times for fun/ Work the oil in/ get some excess (if there is any) out...

Without a barrel because youll get some oil in it

Re: Can I?

Don't use grease on the internals, it will cause all sorts of problems. Only use the grease on your cyclone. Oil for the internals.

What? Maybe if you put a heavy heavy coat inside. I put a light coat on both sides. The only time I ever saw a problem with grease is when it was put on WAY to heavy. A small tube of TechT Gun Sav works great and last for ever.

I am not a fan of using white lithium grease in the internals. Wrong lube for that application. I am sure you know what I would suggest to use.

yes but gun sav is a marker specific product, so even if it is rather tick it doesn't have the same contents as white lithium grease has or any other grease by that matter. The big problem with lubricants and markers is that o-rings will deteriorate if certain chemicals come in contact with them. In the other hand, marker oil, gun sav or any pneumatic tool oil keeps o-rings in working order and avoids drying of the o-rings too, which is another way for o-rings to degrade.

My stuff "Pure Lube" works for all marker parts. Orings and all. One lube for all your parts.

Re: Can I?

so I'm guessing you put thought on the chemistry of your product as to make something that will not degrade and break o-rings correct.

I don't want the recipe for the secret concoction, just one quick yes or no question. Does it have petrol or any of it's derivatives?

Re: Can I?

I can't speak for others or for other types of lube but I've seen a buddy of mine use Sleek (Dow 33) and had problems. It adds too much friction and causes lower velocity, velocity inconsistency, and sputtering (sear not catching). A quick wipe off and added in some Gold Cup and everything disappeared.

IMO, grease is too viscous for the internals.
