apparently, water got in and there a thin layer or monor surface rust developing. just polish it off with 0000 steel wool. nex time you play in the rain, or let water get inside, make sure to break it down and dry it, then apply oil to the outside of the internals to help prevent this again.

its only natural. water + metal = rust

Yup. I have some rust too on that same part in my rear bolt. It's not going to affect your performance.

Just make sure to get it out, then maybe put a bit of oil on it to help prevent it again. At one point I had rust on that and the rear drive spring, just steel wooled it off and oiled em up and they're fine.
