Re: Power tube help

Just need to put some muscle into it. I believe there is a bit of red/blue locktite.

I use a #2 pencil. Eraser end in first into the thin end and hit it against the table hard. Don't lose an eye, wear eye protection!

I don't like the idea of taking a plier/wrench on it. Wouldn't want to scratch it.

Re: Power tube help

I use a wooden dowel rod, place it in the skinny part of the powertube and hit it on a hard table. Not too hard or else the valve will go flying.

Re: Power tube help

There isn't a "single" right way to remove your Valve from the Power Tube. You can use a pencil, a wooden dowel rod, a pliers, or any number of things that will push/pull the Valve out. Just don't take a hammer and nail to it.

I have been using a pliers on my A-5 Valve ever since I started making videos without any scratches, and my Valve was not secured into the Power Tube with locktite either.

The 98's I've tinkered with had locktite, but the A-5's don't.

Re: Power tube help

My mistake then. Only 98's ahve it. Probably because the valve needs to be held in place by various means.

Re: Power tube help

ya i didnt see any locktite when i got it out, i used the plier method in the video and it worked just fine, no dents or scratches. It was just a pain trying to line it up to go in right were you cant spin it once its in.
