| Re: x7 powertube in a5? ive read those threads on the tests, its just that its on ebay now and the auction ends in 2 days, and right now there are no bids so i was thinking if no one bids, $16 shipped for a NDZ bolt/powertube combo is a good deal. of course anyone who reads this is more than welcome to pursue the item as well. thanks a ton for your input though! its good to get other's inputs |

| Re: x7 powertube in a5? Got to agree with spades.... I have the JCS power tube in my x7. No noticeable difference in proformance.

| Re: x7 powertube in a5? does an aftermarket bolt offer any significant difference of any kind? My guess would be the it might seat the ball better but it's just a guess.

| Re: x7 powertube in a5? yeah, there was a big discussion a little while ago about this and the remaining internals. Actually I think there has always been one, after all it sounds pretty logic to think that changing the internals will yield the best performance result. Now in my opinion the problem with A5s is that they have reached their peak performance allowed by the current design of their internals (and by internals I mean the stuff inside the receivers). In other words it doesn't matter what materials you use, the design itself is inefficient. And if you take under consideration other marker designs the A5's open bolt configuration is very inefficient by comparison. So in short we have to come up with a better design for internals rather than just a change in materials. Of course this does not apply to low pressure kits, but that's a talk for another day and another topic. And yes 16 bucks is a good price, but for an extra $10 you can get a cyclone ratchet and axle from a reputable company, and that is a worthy addition to any line of upgrades. And a necessary one too, sooner or later one of the first if not the first thing to break is the stock cyclone ratchet.

I think you mean "blowback" there, not open bolt. Almost all high-end guns save autocockers are open bolt. Open bolt is not necessarily inefficient...but blowbacks might be so ![]()
