Re: Initiated!

The bit that gets me was the spring for the tombstone latch. No matter how many times i strip and rebuild I almost always lose it trying to get it in. Careful as i try to be it always slips and flies halfway around the room, with me, nose to the carpet lookin for it, usually to find it 20 mins later an inch away from the receiver halves "shakes fist in anger at the gods" just to lose it again on the next try.lol.

Re: Initiated!

I'm no newbie to paintball, just to A5's, so the first thing I did when I got my A5 was take it apart, and I looked at all the little pieces carefully and noticed the washer came first, then the o-ring. I'm not like, super observant, but I try to be careful when I take things apart so I can actually get them back together lol!

If you were taking it apart it would be O-ring came first then washer.

Re: Initiated!

I've been reading these forums for a good month before I went ahead and bought my used A5. Been reading everything from custom mods I could do to all the performance upgrades possible. I just got my A5 last week along with a bunch of internals I had ordered and for the first time, slowly tore apart my A5. It actually was a VERY simple task for me...there weren't very many parts in general(compared to tearing apart a complete motor) so it was relatively easy to remember what went where. First time taking it apart I polished the internals, made my custom QEPH, took out all the old plastic internals and replaced them with all the upgraded internals, installed all new o-rings, oiled coated everything, put it back together and what do you know...shoots and sounds perfect! I love my A5 =)

I have a problem with the tombstone spring all the time also. I havent lost it yet but it is always popping out while i try to reassemble the marker. Usually have to put it back in 3-4 times before i can get it together.

Re: Initiated!

Heh, I have a problem with the tombstone latch as well. One time when I disassembled my A5 it came flying out and nailed me in the forehead :P

I became enlightened about a month ago, and I had taken it apart a half dozen times or so too. When it came out I was freaking out that I had broken the power tube and so I was trying to find a way to put them back in, heavily using the diagram in the 'New to Paintball' post. Only a few days after fixing it did I figure out that I had just encountered the exact issue the mantra covers, and I had been lurking on these forums for months before...

Oh BTW the linkage arm between the front and rear bolts is GREAT for putting the o-ring back in
