Re: A-5 Internals ?

First if you expect flaming... It doesn`t exist on this site!

Now for upgrades... If you want to go all out for best performance go with all the Tech T Cyclone upgrades! (especially squishy paddles) If you run Co2 go with a new metal power tube. If you run HPA a metal power tube will only make your marker make more noise... and thats not the best for all situations. Other from that no internals need changing. Then you can go for a new barrel, stock and the rest is all for looks if you want... I put nothing on my marker for looks... performance all the way!

If you want to shoot 25 bps get a speedball gun for the same price as all the upgrades for the A5.

I play on private land most times, with our own rules, normally 15bps.
I will most likely use 3 shot burst, semi or auto capped at around 12. Not really bothered about firing 20+ bps, just don't want to chop while using auto as I've heard that with stock cyclone, this can happen a lot.

Re: A-5 Internals ?

Maybe this is a little more relivant.

Power tube changes nothing unless you want to get rid of the FVA and use an RVA. then you get the gold powertube which eliminates the FVA hole.

Rear Bolt, I replaced the stock rear bolt with the Low Pressure bolt (its just lighter then the original, my valve is still stock)

Front Bolt- there are a few diffrent ones you can choose from the wicked bolt that i use has a ball cradle so it doesnt slam into the ball so hard (does it really work?? may be) they also have ones that have an extra o-ring. the extra o-ring is just to direct more air forward rather then threw the small space between the front bolt and the powertube. (not a measuable amount if you ask for my opinion)

Spring kits are only needed if you have FPS problems but most issues can be fixed by cutting a loop off the stock spring or adding a bb or two to stiffen it up.

If you want you can always get a LPK I used one for a while and loved it, it gave me great consistancy and really changed the way the a5 sounds. I took it off because i didnt like the cosmetic aspect of it, that and i slammed the reg and volumizer into a rock or somthing and really messed up the way they connect to the marker. but would not hesitate to put it back on again if i could do away with that vertical volumizer.

A regulator on your Remote would be great too for consistancy especially if your useing Co2 but works with HPA too. but thats not an internal mod but it effects the internals.

Re: A-5 Internals ?

definately get a magetic trigger for the egrip, best money as far as semi bps I've ever spent. I would also say get the ape board if your egrip isnt and starts acting up. I wasted alot of time messing around with my old w.a.s. board.

Haha, I've been on loads of good sites and you always get the occasional wannabe mod trying to get you to change something to there liking.. anyway...

I run HPA, that's what kind of information I need, about noise etc.

I intend to get M4 foregrip, hammerhead barrel, CAR stock, and I have some real M4 parts I'm going to throw on.
TechT Cyclone kit seems the best so far, just don't really know what to use inside the gun.

I just want it to be as consistent as possible, and preferably not too loud, I know it's a blowback, but I've heard some nice quiet guns.

Re: A-5 Internals ?

okay if your not forced into shooting semi and have and are running HPA already then just the egrip, hammerhead nd polish the internals.Play with the gun ans see if something is lacking. Just so you know I bought the squishy paddles to try them out and they actually made me chop balls, Just cause we call these "upgrades" alot of the time these after market parts dont work that well. see how everything works before buying a bunch of upgrades you might not need.

I intend to keep using the FVA as I'm going to be using a stock so that info helps a lot =]

Rear bolt, even having it lighter would be quite good.

As for front bolt, there was a thread I saw comparing them all and Dead On Paintball Delrin Front Bolt with Teflon Insert was the best performing and most likely intend to use that unless it can be proven otherwise.

As for FPS problems, I have none as of yet, so that doesn't yet concern me.

AS for regulator, I could fit a reg to remote if the consistency bothers me.

Thanks a lot for the help !

Re: A-5 Internals ?

I'm using HPA with a inline palmers stab and for the $100 it really isnt that big of a difference.

Wow, lots of replies while I was finishing my own. As you can see Ernie, everyone has their own way of doing things. The thing is, everyone is right and everyone is wrong. What works for one may not work for another. Take these as suggestions only and see what works best for you.
