Which internals should you upgrade, and which shouldn't ya?

Thought I read somewhere to keep your stock internals? But I've been thinkin about upgrade to the Dead On Front Pro-Seal...

My mods:
Palmer Male Stab
HPA
R/T
TechT Cyclone 4-1 upgrade kit

Which internals can be upgraded, and actually make an improvement?

I agree with ^^. I wouldn't replace my internals unless something broke, or if you're wanting a louder marker.

I replaced all of mine (except the rear hammer) and I never noticed an improvement.

But definitely polish your internals.

yeah i forgot about the loud and proud thing, red hot power tube if you wanna make it a bit louder, if you start seeing alot of wear on any part, buy it ahead of time, i was at a field on time and this one guys front bolt cracked, i dont know how this happens but lucky i had a few extra front bolts in my gear box

Re: Which internals should you upgrade, and which shouldn't ya?

Yeah, when I first got into playing, I went out and bought all new internals. I was thinking I was going to have the "bestest" gun out there....

All those upgrades really didn't do much except make my A-5 much louder (which I didn't want at the time). So I went back to a stock powertube and kept my aftermarket bolt in (I can't remember the name now).

i agree, stick w/the stock internals. of course if it becomes an itch you must scratch then no one is going to stop you. just let us know how the DOP tube/bolt set performs. i am always curious. i upgraded my tube/bolt only because i scored a sweet deal. if it wasnt for that, ida left em alone

In the scientific side-by-side comparison of front bolts the DOP one was actually the only one that yielded better results than the stock bolt.

Re: Which internals should you upgrade, and which shouldn't ya?

right but that was using a jcs gold powertube. i would like to see a comparison of bolt/tube combos ie DOP, NDZ, MadDog, ect vs the stock bolt/tube combo. point being the manufacturers might have slight differences in tolerances and the bolts would be actually "married" to its corresponding tube. although the aftermarket setups might perform slightly better, i doubt the minimal performance boost would justify the $25-$40 cost. but it would be nice to see an all out comparison.

Re: Which internals should you upgrade, and which shouldn't ya?

I wouldn't upgrade any of the internals. I would save money and just purchase a HPA and not get a stab. If you get a R/T or egrip, which both have their pros and cons. I highly recommend getting the TechT Cyclone 4-1 upgrade kit

Results will be up within the week.
