Ok so the saga continues...

Last time i played i had my stab set at 800 and my FVA all the way out and i was barely getting 270 fps. I took my marker apart, polished and cleaned it, and wound up with an air leak. so tippmann sent me a new valve which i didn't recieve yet...

Anyway, i took it to the field this weekend to try and play, leak or not. It actually stopped leaking but when i went to chrono it it shot 360!! i had to turn my stab down to 500(!) and put my FVA screw completely in to get 285. I know polishing is supposed to increase your fps by 10 or so, but over a hundred?? anyone have any idea what's going on? do i need to take apart my stab and clean it or something? is this still a valve issue that will be fixed when i replace it?

EDIT: i got the stab used so it's already broken in.

Update: i recieved my new valve from tippman and replaced my original with that. I also found a chunk was missing from my R/T oring, so i've got that slightly working again, i just need to calibrate it using mistermister's method.

However, i'm afraid this is going to be an issue if i can't get my FPS down to where it needs to be. I'm going to get my gun rechrono'd at the proshop next week, but if they FPS is still way to high, how can i bring it down? on my last outting i had my stab down to 500 and my fva all the way in...
