| Ball Detent Help I actually posted this in another thread, but I thought it would help more poeple if it had it's own dedicated thread. I got tired of not seeing that my ball detent fell out of my A5 after I already put it back together. So, one day I decided to try a little contact cement (rubber glue) around the base of the detent to see if - and how long - it would hold it in place. Well it's been nearly two months now and it hasn't fallen out yet. In conclusion get some rubber cement and the next time you have your marker apart, clean the area where it goes real good and put a little glue around the base of the detent. That should hold it in place for you until you want to remove some other time. Now if I can only keep that foregrip nut in place! Thank you and good hunting. ![]()

| Re: Ball Detent Help I read this suggestion in the other thread and used it. What a difference! It has greatly reduced the number of times I swear when reassembling the halves. Ha ha ha. About the foregrip nut: I'm going to try an experiment. It involves a small wooden dowel rod cut into 2 pieces that will wedge the nut into place. this may also help keep it from loosening and moving around once the bolt is tightened. I'll post the results after using it on the field.

| Re: Ball Detent Help Yeah, I'm not a fan of gluing the detent in place. Granted, it's irritating to have to disassemble the marker again, but I'd rather have the option to replace it eventually (which I've had to do once already).

| Re: Ball Detent Help As long as one doesn't go wild with the glue, a very small dab of contact cement will serve the purpose of keeping the detent in place yet allow it to be easily removed for possible replacement. Remember what the elementary art teacher always said: "A little dab will do ya" Ha ha ha.

| Re: Ball Detent Help Yes just a little bit is all it takes. The purpose isn't to make it become a permanent part of the reciever, but to just hold it in place better. Come to think of it, double sided tape would be great for this also. The kind you use to put plastic on your windows in the winter. Maybe only us MidWest/Northeast guys know about that though. I don't know about trying to dig Gorilla Glue out of that detent area though.
