Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

I used a kit for polishing aircraft windshields, with wet use emery cloth up to 6000 grit, I can see my reflection inside my A5. E

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

Hi,

I was looking up how to polish the a5's internals, and it seems that everyone's a5 is different than mine on the inside.

My a5's internals are the same rough textured coating as the outside of the marker all the way from the barrel adaptor to where the power tube meets the rear bolt. the only shiny part of the gun is the last couple inches where the rear bolt and spring slide.

I bought my a5 brand new 6 months ago. Anyone elses like this?

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

The inside of every A5 is rough from overspray. That is why we polish the internals. Mainly where the front and rear bolts move. That way they move more efficiently. It would be like pushing your car with the emergency brake partially set. When you polish the receiver halves it is like releasing the brake and everything can move smoothly. We all have diffent ways to accomplish the polish the internals. Mainly what supplies we readily have available.

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

when you say overspray do you mean just a bit rough (still silver)?

because the only silver part in mine is where the rear bolt is...
I'll get a picture on here sometime

these questions might sound dumb, but ive never opened anyone elses a5.......

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

It may be silver or gray but if you run your finger over it, the surface is rough not nice and smooth. You are trying to achieve a smooth surface to allow the bolts to operate faster and more efficiently.
