Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

I'm going to do this tonight, as I have to take my marker apart anyways.. I'm going to use scotch bright.. I'll let you know how it goes..

I am also going to polish the inside of my cyclone Piston housing (unless it already is uppon further inspection..

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

There's no need to polish the piston housing. Also, it'd be extremely difficult to do evenly.

Wow.. Polishing your receiver half's is totally worth it... As stated before, I gained 30 - 40 FPS maybe even more.. The marker is ALLOT more smooth and faster than normal.. While I was reassembling the marker the bolts slid with Almost NO friction.. Why doesn't tippmann do this before they sell them?? OMG what a difference..

tippmann goes for quantity, not quality. it just runs off the assembly line that way.

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

USE EMERY CLOTH, if you dont know what it is its a fine grit sandpaper used for stripping rust and paint off metals i got a pack with heavy medium and fine paper for like 4 bucks at Home Depot, use the medium or heavy first which ever you prefer(i used medium) get the overspray off >clean> then polish with the fine grip paper and wash again works like a charm, looks purdy and sooooooooo smooth

Here's a look at both my receiver's one polished one unpolished you tell me which looks like it will work better

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

Is it really necessary to get the overspray where the barrel screws in? I don't see how taking the time to get that off is going to help anything.

Any suggestions on how to get the paint out of the corner areas? Mainly where the cocking assembly goes.

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

No, it's not necessary. The idea is to remove the overspray around the moving parts.
