Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

Both markers that I have sparyed it on have had great results. I have not had time to post pics. I can say that it does not have petrol and does not change the inner diameter. you spray it on and an hour later wipe off the excess. I may do a step by step with pictures if I have the time this weekend.[edit the product i used is from hopps and is not an actual lube. It only serves to fill in the small pours of the material.]

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

well dont stop there. Field test it and then do a strip down and examine the parts. If you see metal abrasion marks or metal dust then it is not working.

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

Ok I signed up just to ask this question! I've skimmed through 31 pages and no one has asked this i don't think...

I have one of the newer versions of the A-5 with the 2 holes for the RT and where the power tube sits has a slot for an o-ring (on the inside)... if I do this mod will it screw that up?

Also the front bolt area looks like its somewhat deformed (like they didn't pour enough metal into the mold) should I call Tippmann and ask for a replacement or remove that much material? The marker binds up a bit as it is.. Last time I played my marker completely got jammed and i had to take it apart (the cocking lever would not move all the way back to where it normally does cock the gun.. but the rear bolt was catching on the trigger somehow... hard to explain)

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

No, this mod will not damage the screw holes for the banjo fittings.

For the front area, just take off the overspray and try the marker. You should notice an improvement. Unless there's a full operational problem, I wouldn't contact Tippmann.

And welcome to one of my favorite places on the 'Net!

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

Thanks..

Well it's not a screw hole... its a large grove for an o-ring about the size of the one that goes over the rear bolt.. sorta like a moat around the banjo holes..

Will this mod fix the weird binding problem I'm having? It seems to be working fine most the time but strange jamming occurs.. maybe its working despite being broken lol

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

you maybe tightening the receiver halves too tightly. If so it can cause the rear bolt to bind at the end of its rear ward travel. Sanding the area evenly will help.

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

Correct. My answer holds as true for the o-ring groove (forgot the new receivers had that) as for the banjo hole.

Polishing may help, and certainly can't hurt.

Re: How-To: Polish Your Internals

Just make sure you remove the o-ring before polishing.
