| Re: Hard case for the A-5 I'm actually using a soft case ( see link below) and even with the cyclone and a side mounted tactical flashlight on it fits just fine... The only thing I remove is the hopper... OPSGEAR

I have one of those and it works perfectly. You'll have to take the stock off if you have a full stock. If you have a folder (I have a G36 folding stock), just take out one layer of foam and it fits just right. I took it on the airlines a couple times in a soft duffle and didn't have any problems. [edit] forgot to mention that I have a UMS riser + BSA 30mm red dot and it fits fine without having to remove the optics/tac cap |

| Re: Hard case for the A-5 I caught gun cases on sale from a mail order place and got mine for around $30. Its a double rifle case that will hold 2 A5's with stocks/barrels. The only down side is its so big i cant really haul it in my car. Ill get the name off of it tonight... its a great case, just prolly need a SUV or truck cause i have to lay the front and back seats down for it to ride in the Tiburon haha |

| Re: Hard case for the A-5 I still have the old rifle case that I used to use for my A-5 and if you can tell me how to post pics on this forum I'll add some for you. The case stands upright instead of laying flat on its side and it has foam inserts for the front and rear stock to rest on. The foam protects the bottoms and sides of the stock and keeps the weapon centered in the case. It has two velcrom straps that secure the gun so that it doesnt move around. It has more than enough room for the A5 with the barrel still no, it doesnt interfere with the cyclone, and you can even store the hopper and another barrel or two in the case (I think 14" is about as long a barrel as it will store). I now use an Invert soft-sided bag that holds my A5, my vest (including tank and pods), four barrels, and additional misc gear like squeegies, gloves, neck protector, sling, etc. I prefer the soft case, but only b/c it will accomodate so much more. *** Attached is a pic of the hard case, an AirGlide rifle case, with my A5 inside. | Re: Hard case for the A-5 Bad Karma1, I know you are opposed on getting the Pelican case as I was. However, I took the plung because these cases are virtually indestructible, keeps moisture and dust out and comes with internal wheels and handle. I used to work for Delta Air Lines for 10 years and everytime a CNN news crew would travel, that's all you would see getting loaded on the planes were a bunch of Pelican cases. The foam can be arranged any way you prefer. I used a Hot Knife that I bought at Wal-Mart in the craft section to cut the foam. Real easy to do and the results were very pleasing. I configured my case to accomodate my sons Custom 98 with both the stock barrel and sniper barrel, my A-5 with the flatline barrel and cyclone attached, plus the stock barrel and both hoppers all in the case nice and neatly secured. I figured the amount of money I have tied up between both guns warranted this Pelican case purchase. You can just toss the case in the back of a truck and go. You wouldn't have to worry about the guns moving around or getting damaged. Plus it has 2 padlock attachment points. Take care, Jay |
