Grrr Hard case for the A-5

Hey guys,
I have a bit of a dilemma. I have been searching for a hard case to transport and protect my A-5. I would go with a standard rifle or shotgun case however because the a-5 (and x-7 for that matter) have a cyclone, a standard case will not work. I’m currently using a case I got from Rap-4 which works, but I have to remove my cyclone every time which sucks! I’ve also looked at pelican cases that my company sells but they are DAMN expensive. So, I’m coming to you my brethren of the a5og because I’m betting one of you brilliant guys have already found a solution. I’m gonna search the web tonight to see if I can find anything else. Thanks for the help.

Re: Hard case for the A-5

Really depends on how much you want to spend...

I know that Pelican makes several cases that would work. Here's one that's 5 1/4 inches deep. Should be able to fit an A-5 or X-7 with cyclone attached.

But they aren't cheap... maybe you can get a deal on one on ebay though.

Re: Hard case for the A-5

Yeah i tryed the pelican route, however, even with my company discount it was around 200 bucks! I love my gun, just not quite that much.

Re: Hard case for the A-5

If you can find a guncase thick enough you can cut into the foam. Some multi rifle cases will be thick enough.

Re: Hard case for the A-5

The Storm cases by Hardigg are very nice cases and I think they are at least equal, if not superior to, the Pelican cases.

Here is a link to the iM3100, which I think would be ideal for the A5 and accessories. Hardigg Storm Gun case

Yes, they are still expensive, but consider that you already have several hundred dollars tied up in your marker....what is it worth to protect that investment?

Re: Hard case for the A-5

I just use a thick metal briefcase that I tore all of the "brief" stuff out of. I bought some foam from home depot and cut it to shape and glued it to the inside of the case. I previously cut out the shape of the a-5 and my barrel into the foam and made a special pad on top to protect the cyclone, works great for me. It is also very compact

Re: Hard case for the A-5

I've looked at Bow cases that were thick enough to accomodate the A-5 with attached cyclone, and they weren't much more expensive than a rifle case. Our local Dick's Sporting Goods carries a double Compound Bow case that is 7 3/4" thick. You might need to augment the internal configuration, but it should work. Just look at what the post above fit into it...yikes! You would need two guys just to carry the case.
